Riverdale has always been a proud neighbor.

Never was that sense of pride greater than it was in the springand summer of 1945 when the agony of war was replaced withjoy of peace. Riverdale was proud of its many sons and dughters who had contributed so much to preserve freedom on the face of the earth. Yes proud .  . . and also grateful for the supreme sacrifice made by so many.

Thus it was that in May, 1946 the Riverdale Memorial Post # 1525 was born------dedicated to preserve the memories of the great wars and to work for a better community, state and nation and for a just and lasting peace for the whole world.
